TV Shows Portraying Stay-at-Home Dads
Check out the videos page for news reports about stay-at-home dads. These links are for TV shows portraying stay-at-home dads. By the way, the producers of various reality shows regularly contact us looking for a family with a stay-at-home dad who is willing to open their lives or home to the show. If you're interested, and if any of these shows are still being produced, get in touch with them and make them an offer. Some of the shows pay a stipend for appearing.
- Househusbands of Hollywood was a Fox Reality Channel series that documents the lives of five househusbands and their wives who provide the primary household income, while they tend to their homes, and in some cases, their children. See all the episodes on hulu.

- Burnett Family - April 18, 2005 - Season 1, Episode 10
- The Burnetts are in over their heads. With five kids, including Zachary, 8, and two sets of twins -- Joseph and John, 3, and Michael and Molly, 16 months. This is a family consumed by chaos. A self-employed, stay-at-home dad, Michael, is struggling to find a balance between work and family. Mom Joanne is a schoolteacher who comes home every afternoon to four needy toddlers who want all of her attention and a household full of chores that Dad has deemed "woman's work."
- Uva Family - Sept 18, 2006 - Season 2, Episode 19
- The Uva boys, Trevor (7) and Travis (4), disrespect authority figures, curse, insult and bully their classmates. They expect their parents to do everything for them -- in fact, the seven-year-old insists his mom help him go to the potty. Mom Rosemary owns and operates a pre-school full time, and is too tired by day's end to give her boys the attention and love they desperately need. She craves more help from her husband, John, a stay-at-home dad who is admittedly clueless and detached from his sons. He brings them to Rosemary's pre-school every day because he doesn't know what else to do with them. The boys have gained a reputation for being the worst behaved kids there, and their parents have essentially given up.

- Trading Spouses (ended 2007) - I suspect that Trading Spouses included a few stay-at-home dads, but when the show was cancelled (and never syndicated), all references to it and descriptions disappeared from the Internet. If you have any details or info about stay-at-home dads on Trading Spouses, please contact me.
- My Own Worst Enemy - Christian Slater plays a split personality who is sometimes Henry, a mild-mannered stay-at-home dad, and sometimes Edward, a government operative and hired assassin controlled by a shadowy organization. Good grief, and it didn't last long at all.
- Meet Mr. Mom - A reality show on NBC in 2005. Moms are given a surprise luxury vacation while Dad is left to run the household and mind the kids for a week. Again, cancelled quickly and not syndicated, it exists nowhere on the Internet.
- Stay At Home Dan - A 10-minute pilot for an unaired sitcom.
- At Home Dad - Japanese TV comedy from 2004.
